We’ve just rolled out our contest schedule for this year on our Contests Page. If you are ready to sign up, just click this button!
Our contest lineup features our regular contests, the AMC and the Purple Comet. We’re also planning to host a new contest called the AMM-Local. More about that below.
See you at a math contest,

Our 2026–2027 Contest Season! Contests will take place at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY 12504.
AMC 10/12A: 5pm on Thursday, November 5, 2026
AMC 10/12B: 5pm on Friday, November 13, 2026
AMC 8: 5pm on Thursday, January 21, 2027 (weather date: Friday, January 22, 2027)
Purple Comet: 2pm on Saturday, April 10, 2027
The AMC contests are taken individually by middle school students (AMC 8) and high school students (AMC 10 and AMC 12). As usual, we will offer both the high school contest A and B schedules.
The Purple Comet contest is a team contest: teams of up to six students work together to solve too many problems in too little time for any one student to solve them all. Teamwork is critical! Topics range across Algebra, Combinatorics, Geometry, Number Theory, and more.
In the Works:
We plan to host a site of the inaugural AMM-Local on Sunday, January 17, 2027 at Bard College. The American Masters of Mathematics is a competition and math festival organized by OMEGA Math, the Organization for Mathematical Engagement & Growth in America.
The challenge level is high: AIME Level, but proofs. What is the AIME Level? This refers to the American Invitational Math Exam. Students who perform exceedingly well on the AMC 10 or AMC 12 are invited to continue to the AIME. You can find an archive of AIME problems at the Art of Problem Solving Wiki.
Also of Interest:
Students who are interested in mathematical Problem Solving can find many venues to compete. We list several on our webpage, www.bardmathcircle.org/contests. Here are some specific opportunities.
Math Kangaroo: In Rhinebeck on Monday November 16, 2026. This team competition is for grades 1-4 and grades 5-12. Please click the button to register.
