Dear Math Friends,
The year 2025 (a perfect square number!) is coming to a close, and we hope you will join us this Saturday, December 22 at 2pm for our monthly Family Math Afternoon at the Kingston Library. Bring the family!
We’ll have our usual assortment of puzzles and games and some new ones. Make a mathematical artifact and bring it home, and try your hand at a First Five collection of challenging math problems.
For the problem-solving enthusiasts, our AMC 10/12 results are in. We had 22 students come out for the AMC 10 and AMC 12 contests. In all, 3 of our students qualified for the AIME (American Invitational Math Exam), 6 students ranked in the top 25% of participants, and 1 student ranked n the top 10% on some very challenging problems.
I hope to see you this Saturday at the Kingston Library. If not, then best wishes to you this season.
Thanks to our community for their Giving Tuesday donations. There is still time this calendar year to make a gift to support math enrichment in the Mid-Hudson Valley!
