Your gift to the Bard Math Circle is always welcome.
Dear Friend,
As the year draws to a close, I'm reaching out to ask for your support in nurturing the next generation of mathematicians and problem-solvers through the Bard Math Circle. Your gift will directly impact young minds, fostering a love of math and empowering them with critical thinking skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
Our flagship program, the Bard Math CAMP (Creative and Analytical Math Program), is a vital resource for middle school students, a crucial age for developing a positive relationship with mathematics. While we've previously received support from the American Mathematical Society, their focus has narrowed to high school programs. This makes your contribution more critical than ever in providing need-based scholarships and ensuring that all mathematically curious middle schoolers have the opportunity to participate, regardless of their financial background. We believe these formative years are essential for sparking a lifelong passion for math, and we're committed to keeping our program accessible to all.
But we're not stopping there. We're launching two exciting new initiatives this spring:
Parent's Math Workshop: Recognizing the importance of a supportive home environment, we're introducing a workshop for parents, running alongside our popular Family Math Afternoon. This program will equip parents with the tools and strategies to create a math-positive atmosphere at home, just as they do for reading and literacy.
Purple Comet Contest: We're reigniting the excitement of team-based problem-solving by organizing middle and high school students to compete in the Purple Comet Contest in April. This could be the seed of a new, ongoing Saturday problem-solving program, providing students with a collaborative and engaging space to hone their mathematical skills.
These pilot programs are currently offered free of charge as we refine and perfect them. Your support will help us ensure their success and long-term sustainability.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a tangible difference.
A gift of $45 would help us run a Family Math Afternoon.
Dare to square? $452 = $2,025 would provide need-based Bard Math CAMP scholarships for 4.5 students.
Any amount will help support math enrichment in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Join us in empowering young minds through the magic of mathematics. You can make your secure online donation at https://bardian.bard.edu/register/mathcircle.
Thank you for your generosity and belief in the power of math enrichment.
Sincerely,
Japheth
