Bard Math Circle
Celebrate Pi Day with us at Repair Café!
Date: Saturday, March 14 (that's 3/14!)
Time: 11am–3pm
Location: Redeemer Lutheran Church
Address: 101 Wurts Street, Kingston, NY 12401
(top of the Rondout neighborhood in Kingston)
Bring your parents, bring your kids, bring a beloved but broken item to be fixed or mended for free! … and bring your math-loving self to a place where problem-solving rules!
Repair Cafe brings together volunteer experts to troubleshoot repairs for people who bring us all kinds of stuff: mechanical, electrical and electronic items, ceramics, things made of wood – even metal welding (including high-temperature aluminum welding). A team of seamstresses will provide both machine mending and hand stitching for clothing and textiles and stuffed animals! Bike-Friendly Kingston and the YMCA's Bike-It program will provide bicycle tune-ups and basic repairs.
The Bard Math Circle will bring illuminating and engaging math activities to learn about π and its surprising role in mathematics. Fun, fun, fun!

Girls' Adventures in Math! (GAIM)
Register your team for Girls' Adventures in Math! Designed for girls in grades 3–8, this contest has always brought an energetic crowd to Bard College. GAIM is a team-based comic book math competition that features great women from history. Get your teams together!
Registration is open now and the contest will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Get ready for the Purple Comet Math Meet!
The Purple Comet! Math Meet is a team mathematics competition designed for middle and high school students. Teams of from one to six students compete by solving a list of mathematics problems. The problems range in difficulty from fairly easy to extremely challenging. Mark your calendars now! Registration will open soon.

The Creative and Analytical Math Program (CAMP is back!)
Dates: Monday through Friday, August 3–7, 2020
Time: 9:00am to 3:30pm each day
Location: The idyllic Bard College campus in Annandale-on-Hudson
For: Students currently in grades 5 through 8
Entering its 7th summer in 2020, the Creative and Analytical Math Program (CAMP) is a non-residential academic math enrichment opportunity for students who want to explore challenging math in a relaxed setting. Engaging classes and activities are led by experienced educators and undergraduate math majors. We emphasize hands-on math, teamwork, outside-the-box thinking and creative problem-solving.
The application form will be ready by early April, with April 30 as the priority deadline (followed by rolling admissions). Please join our email list so that we can contact you with updates.
