Prepare for the AMC 10B and AMC 12B with us!
We're sharing brief practice problem sets each week until the contest. Get out your pencil and scratch paper and click the button below to begin.
When you finish your quiz, hit the SUBMIT button. The next screen will show a button to view your score and a link to the quiz solutions (PDF). Please read the solutions carefully! They will help you understand each problem better and uncover new topics.
These practice problems lean on the easier side of what's actually on the contests. AMC beginners will find these challenging, so take your time and work on these carefully, with no time pressure. Intermediate and advanced participants: you will find these problems enjoyable and useful. If you are interested in a timed practice, give yourself 30 minutes to complete all 10 problems!
AMC 10/12B Contest Information
The AMC 10/12 contests are 75-minutes long and consists of 25 multiple choice questions in high school mathematics excluding Calculus. Preparing for the AMC contests helps develop students’ problem-solving skills and interest in mathematics.
Date: Wednesday, February 5, 2020
Time: The check-in table opens by 4:00pm, the contest starts at 4:30pm, and the whole event ends by 7:00pm.
Location: Reem-Kayden Center for Science and Computation (RKC), Bard College

GPS Location: 31 Campus Road, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY 12504
For: AMC 10B for students in grades up to 10, and AMC 12B for grades up to 12. Younger students are welcome.
Price: Free! Please support the Bard Math Circle and keep it free.

The Purple Comet! Contest is a team-based competition, with versions for middle school (20 problems in 60 minutes) and high school students (30 problems in 90 minutes). Start practicing now, and stay tuned for more information as we approach the contest window, April 21–30, 2020.
It's not too early to plan for GAIM! Designed for girls in grades 3–8, this contest has always brought an energetic crowd to Bard College. Girls' Adventures in Math is a team-based comic book math competition that features great women from history. Get your teams together! Registration is open now and the contest will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Rebuilding the Upstate NY ARML Team
The American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) is the preeminent team-based high school math competition. Until 2016, Upstate New York's top math students would compete alongside the strongest math students in the nation. Bard College Math Professor Japheth Wood has set the goal of reorganizing the Upstate New York team, and returning to ARML the last weekend in May 2020.
