As we close out this calendar year, it's time to look forward to our spring 2020 contests. We have some great math contests scheduled, ranging from elementary school to middle school to high school. Please read on below for details.

AMC 10/12B Contest Information
The AMC 10 is 75-minutes long and consists of 25 multiple choice questions in high school mathematics excluding Calculus. Preparing for the AMC contests helps develop students’ problem-solving skills and interest in mathematics.
Date: Wednesday, February 5, 2020
Time: The check-in table opens by 4:00pm, the contest starts at 4:30, and the whole event ends by 7:00pm.
Location: Reem-Kayden Center for Science and Computation (RKC), Bard College

GPS Location: 31 Campus Road, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY 12504
For: AMC 10 for students in grades up to 10, AMC 12 for grades up to 12. Younger students are welcome.
Price: Free! Please support the Bard Math Circle and keep it free.
Stay after the contest for refreshments and a math talk!
Prepare for the AMC 10 and 12 with us. We'll send out a weekly problem set for you to practice on.
Math Talk
After the AMC Contests, students will be treated to refreshments and then an engaging math talk by Bard College Math Professor Lauren Rose. Parents and teachers are welcome to join us.

Talk Title: Super Set, a variant of SET
It's not too early to plan for GAIM! Designed for girls in grades 3–8, this contest has always brought an energetic crowd to Bard College. Girls' Adventures in Math is a team-based comic book math competition that features great women from history. Get your teams together! Registration is open now and the contest will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

The Purple Comet! Contest is a team-based competition, with versions for middle school (20 problems in 60 minutes) and high school students (30 problems in 90 minutes). Start practicing now, and stay tuned for more information as we approach the contest window, April 21–30, 2020.
Rebuilding the Upstate NY ARML Team
The American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) is the preeminent team-based high school math competition. Until 2016, Upstate New York's top math students would compete alongside the strongest math students in the nation. Bard College Math Professor Japheth Wood has set the goal of reorganizing the Upstate New York team, and returning to ARML the last weekend in May 2020.
