AMC 8 Contest Information
The AMC 8 is 40-minutes long and consists of 25 multiple choice questions in middle school mathematics. Preparing for the AMC 8 helps develop students’ problem-solving skills and interest in mathematics.
Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2019
Time: The check-in table opens by 4:00pm, the contest starts at 4:30, and the whole event ends by 7:00pm.
Location: Reem-Kayden Center for Science and Computation (RKC), Bard College
GPS Location: 31 Campus Road, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY 12504
For: Students in grades 6–8, younger students are welcome.
Price: Free! Please support the Bard Math Circle and keep it free.
Stay after the contest for refreshments and a math talk!
Prepare for the AMC 8 with us on the Saturdays before the contest. Our Bard Math Majors are offering prep sessions on the weekends leading up to the contest.
Dates: Saturdays, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, and 11/9

The team has been inactive for over five years. Now, Bard Math Circle director Japheth Wood has decided to rebuild this tradition. The current goal is to bring a team to ARML at the end of May, 2020. GAIM Girls' Adventure in Math (GAIM)
Registration has recently opened, so join us in Annandale-on-Hudson this coming April 25, 2020 in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY for GAIM 2020! Schools may register as many teams as they’d like, students on each team must attend the same school. Teams compete in one of two divisions: Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5) or Middle (Grades 6-8).

Talk Title: Fibonacci Numbers, including several problems that are answered by the Fibonacci Numbers and an insightful derivation of Binet's formula.
