AMC 8 Contest Information
Date: Tuesday, November 13th
Time: The check-in table opens by 4:00pm, event ends by 7:00pm
Location: Reem-Kayden Center, Bard College
For: Students, geared towards grades 6–8. Younger students welcome
Price: Still free! Please read below to help make this all possible.
Math Talk
After the talk, students will be treated to an engaging math talk by a Bard College math professor. Parents and teachers are welcome to join us.
Speaker: Professor Japheth Wood, Bard College
Talk Title: Farey Fractions and Ford Circles
Registration is required, and may be done at the check-in table.
Make it a Team Event!
The AMC 8 Contest is an individual event. But just for fun, let's make it a team event. We'll add the top 3 scores from your school as your team score. Contact us at bardmathcircle@gmail.com if you'd like to form a non-school team.

We feature the American Math Competitions contests (AMC 8, AMC 10, and AMC 12), the Purple Comet contest, and Girls’ Adventures in Mathematics (GAIM).
Our focus is on encouraging a culture of creative mathematical problem-solving. This popular program attracts students come from all over the Mid-Hudson Valley.
