Good math is what it's all about.
In a very prime way, this summer marked the Bard Math Circle's 11th anniversary. As demand for our CAMP keeps growing, this August we expanded by 50 percent, allowing more middle-school students to enjoy a full week of the Creative and Analytical Math Program (pictured above) at the Bard College campus. During the school year, we launched the Girls Math Club, community outreach, national contests, and we re-launched our webpage.
Meanwhile, our programs are more popular and successful than ever, which brings us to an important request. There is no other math enrichment program in the area like the Bard Math Circle.
We need your help to exponentiate our impact.
We founded the Bard Math Circle in 2007 with the intent of creating and nurturing a community of local middle school students who love math. Great collaborations and new paths have been created with Bard math majors, national math organizations, math circle parents and you.
In the last decade, we have brought to the Mid-Hudson Valley community programs, math contests, a summer CAMP, and a Girls Math Club. Hundreds of local children (and their teachers, too) have enjoyed rich mathematical experiences, companionship, and a sense of community, –including learning to solve the Rubik's Cube with us!
In the short term, we need to raise $4,000 for the 2018–2019 Girls Math Club, our 2018–2019 contest program, and for need-based scholarships for our CAMP program.
But if the sky is the limit, we want to approach it. While more parents and students find out about our offerings, we find ourselves limited in our resources to offer more fun math outside of the classroom. The Bard Math Circle is at the point where it has to expand to exponentiate the positive impact of our programming. We ask for your ideas, encouragement, inspiration, and contributions.
