Competition season is upon us! We at the Bard Math Circle are getting ready to host the 2016 AMC 8, so here's what we want YOU to know.
AMC 8
The AMC 8 will take place on Tuesday November 15, 2016 from 4:30 - 6:30 pm in the RKC building at Bard College. We apologize for the error in our September newsletter which contained a different date that was incorrect. For more information and to register for the contest, click here. Note that registration is free but space is limited, so please register early and as soon as possible.
Prep Sessions
We will hold prep sessions at Bard College during the weekends leading up to the contest. Problem sets generated from previous AMC 8 exams will be provided for each student. Each session will be lead by a Bard undergraduate math major and will focus on one specific topic. We aim to help familiarize students with the types of questions they will see, as well as provide test-taking tips and strategies to increase their confidence during the exam.
The first prep session will be this Saturday, October 1st, in RKC 101 from 1 - 4 pm. The topic will be Geometry. We would love to see you there! You must register for the contest to come to prep sessions, but no additional sign up is required.
For more information about prep sessions, please refer to the AMC 8 registration link above. We hope to see you then!
